I got told to 'stay the hell with me' by Swasser as were about mid way up the length of the column as we broke out into a clearing near Tap La. We were all pretty tense, there'd been a whole lot of activity reported here only a couple of days ago and no-one knew what the hell we were going to find.
Up front, Davies dropped to his knee and we all froze. It was completely silent, not even a goddam fly buzzing around. I pulled the Leica up and squeezed off a shot.
